Upgrade your hardware
Daily Professional Diary - 22 October 2024
Today at the office, my contractor from the site came in to discuss plans for his own home. I started working on it on my laptop, but the software crashed 3-4 times during the process. This made me realize that I need to install an SSD in my laptop, as it can't handle the workload and speed I need.
At the end of the day, I got a call from an engineer to whom I had provided the RCC design for his project. I asked him to come to the office to discuss it, but due to his busy schedule, it wasn't possible. We decided to discuss everything on Discord, and it went perfectly.
Professional Tips- Upgrading Equipment: If your software crashes frequently, consider upgrading your hardware. An SSD can significantly improve your laptop's performance and handle heavy workloads better.
- Flexible Communication: When in-person meetings aren't possible, use online communication tools like Discord. They can be just as effective for discussing important details.
- Client Discussions: Always find a way to accommodate your client's schedule. Offering alternative solutions, like online meetings, shows flexibility and commitment to the project.
- Adaptability: Be prepared to adapt your workflow when encountering technical issues. Identifying and resolving hardware limitations promptly can save time and frustration.
- Effective Use of Technology: Leveraging technology for communication and collaboration can streamline processes and ensure projects stay on track, even when face-to-face meetings are not feasible.
